Time is valuable. Everywhere you look, people are developing new technologies in order to save time and maximize every minute. The smart phone is one of these technologies that has quickly grown in popularity and has become an essential in almost every business professional’s life. Unfortunately though, many people become frustrated with their new smartphone due to the fact that they did not do their research and bought the first thing that the sales person showed them. For this reason, we have compiled a list of thing to keep in mind that should help you in finding the phone that fits you.
Before you buy a smart phone, it is important to determine what you will use it for. Do you need a portable GPS? Do you want your phone to serve as high speed modem in order to get internet on your laptop from anywhere? Do you want to instantly exchange videos of dancing cats with your great aunt Martha? Going the store with a list of what you WANT will make it much easier in making your decision then hearing from a sales person about what you NEED to have.
Smartphones come in all different shapes and sizes. So before you buy it, hold it in your hand and see how it feels. Are the buttons too small? Does it fit well in your pocket/purse? Also, touch screens are the big thing right now. However, if you are OCD about cleaning off fingerprints then maybe this isn’t the best thing for you. It’s the little things like this that can ultimately lead to you either loving or hating your smart phone.
Do you travel a lot? Need a phone that won’t loose service overseas? It is important to make sure that you pick a smartphone and a service provider that can provide this for you.
Some smart phones are locked so that they can only be used by a specific cellular provider. So before you buy, make sure that you find a provider that you will want to stay with for as long as you have your phone. If your one of those people who are afraid of commitments then that’s not a problem. Just make sure that you buy a phone that is “unlocked”. It might cost you a little more but who knows, it might just end up being worth it.
That’s about it. Once you have an answer to these four questions then you are ready to go hunting for that perfect phone. Good Luck.
